Gate-side Lego fix in Terminal 1
This small Lego shop sits airside in Terminal 1 at William P. Hobby (HOU), a quick walk from most Southwest gates. It’s more of a compact branded kiosk than a full flagship store, but it carries real boxed sets, not just random toys. Think smaller City and Friends kits that start around $10, a few mid-size sets in the $25–$40 range, and classic minifigure packs kids can rip into before boarding.
Hours generally track with the bank of Southwest departures, so you’ll usually see it open from around 6:00 a.m. through the last evening waves, roughly 9:00–10:00 p.m. on busy days. Stock leans toward travel-friendly boxes that fit under-seat bags rather than huge 2,000-piece builds. It’s entertainment, not a full-time project, which actually helps if you’re boarding a 90-minute hop to DAL or AUS and just want something hands-on for a kid.
Pricing runs close to regular retail; you’re not paying the extreme “airport markup” you see at some gadget stands, though you also won’t find deep discounts or clearance bins. No building tables, no large display models, and no store-exclusive releases here—just shelves of boxed sets and small impulse buys near the register. Figure 5–10 minutes to browse and pay, so you can duck in between boarding groups A and C without stress.
Tip: Check box sizes before you tap your card; anything over about 10 inches wide gets awkward in HOU’s under-seat space on packed Southwest 737s.
