Gate-side Tex-Mex option in Terminal 1

Just past security in Terminal 1, LaTrelle's Tex-Mex Kitchen covers the basic cravings: tacos, breakfast plates, nachos, and quesadillas with Houston-style portions. You’ll see it in the main concourse dining cluster, so it works as a meet-up spot before flights out of the single HOU terminal.

Menu boards usually run tacos and breakfast items in the $8–$14 range, with combo plates and larger entrées closer to $15–$20. Portions tend to be bigger than what you’d get from the nearby grab-and-go coolers, so factor in 20–25 minutes if you actually want to sit and eat instead of sprinting back to your gate.

LaTrelle’s leans into Tex-Mex standards: huevos rancheros in the morning, chicken or beef tacos during the day, plus chips and salsa that come out quickly. If you’re short on time before a Southwest departure, stick to tacos or quesadillas rather than heavier platters that can slow down both the kitchen and your walk back to boarding.

Service pace at airport Tex-Mex can swing a lot during the 6:00–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–7:00 p.m. banks, when most HOU Terminal 1 flights bunch up. If you see a line 8–10 people deep, assume at least 15 minutes before food hits your table or bag, and consider ordering something that travels easily back to the gate.

Tip: If your flight boards in 30 minutes or less, order to-go, pay at the counter, and carry the tacos back toward your exact gate before unwrapping anything.
