Gate-side tech fix in Terminal 1
Right in Terminal 1 at William P. Hobby Airport, InMotion is the spot to hit if your headphones die an hour before a 3-hour flight. It sits post-security along the main concourse, so you can duck in after TSA without backtracking to the ticketing level.
InMotion carries the usual big names for audio and chargers, with premium brands often running $150–$400 and basic wired earbuds closer to $20–$30. You’ll see noise-cancelling over-ears, Bluetooth in-ears, power banks, and plenty of Lightning, USB-C, and micro-USB cables hanging on the walls. Prices trend higher than Target or Best Buy, but that’s normal for airport retail.
Hours generally track flight banks, opening early morning around the 5:00–5:30 a.m. departures and staying open into the evening rush, often past the 9:00 p.m. bank. That means you can usually grab a cable or adapter after a late inbound from Dallas or before a first wave Southwest flight out.
Inventory skews toward Apple and Samsung users, with a decent shelf of MagSafe-compatible chargers and USB-C laptop bricks that can push 45W or 65W. You’ll also find travel plug adapters and smaller Bluetooth speakers, handy if you’re heading on a weeklong trip and realize at the gate that your only charger is still in the living room.
Tip: before paying, ask the staff to open the box and test the cable or headphones on your actual phone at the counter; much easier than trying to return something once you’ve already boarded out of HOU.
