Yard House

Gate-adjacent pints and plates before Terminal 1 departures

Yard House sits airside in Terminal 1 at William P. Hobby Airport, past security and a short walk from most Southwest gates. It runs from late morning through evening hours, so you can usually get a sit-down meal before those mid-day and late-afternoon banks of flights. Expect sports-bar energy with wall TVs tuned to ESPN and similar channels, making it a decent spot to kill 45–60 minutes before boarding.

Menu is the standard Yard House playbook: burgers around $16–$19, tacos and street-style plates in the low teens, and bigger mains like steaks or fish in the $20s. Portion sizes track the mainland locations, which is helpful if you’re trying to replace a full meal you skipped landside. Salads and lighter options sit closer to $14–$17, but add-ons like chicken or shrimp bump that up a couple bucks.

Beer is the headline here, with a long draft list and frequent rotations, though airport selection is usually trimmed down versus a city site. Expect domestic pints in the $8–$10 range and imports or higher-ABV options a dollar or two more. Cocktails land in the $13–$16 bracket, similar to other full-service spots in HOU Terminal 1. If you care about local flavor, ask which Houston or Texas brews are on tap that day.

Service pace varies with the flight banks; at peak times, burgers and pizzas can take 20–30 minutes to hit the table. Early in the day or between banks, you can often be in and out in about 40 minutes. Yard House does bar seating along with tables, so solo travelers can usually grab a stool faster than waiting for a two-top.

Tip: If your departure is inside 45 minutes, stick to items that fire fast—think tacos, salads, or appetizers—and ask for the check when the food arrives to avoid waiting behind a surge of Southwest passengers all paying at once.
