Grab-and-go Markets

Pre-made sandwiches and snacks when you just need something fast

Grab-and-go Markets at Houston Hobby sit post-security in Terminal 1, set up for quick pit stops between flights. You’ll see coolers with pre-packaged sandwiches, wraps, yogurt, and salads, plus shelves of chips and candy. Drink doors hold bottled water, soda, juices, and usually a few energy drinks. It’s all self-serve with a single checkout counter, so you’re in and out in a few minutes.

Prices run higher than street level, with many items in the $4–$12 range depending on size and brand. Expect basic turkey or ham sandwiches, simple salads, and breakfast items like muffins or packaged pastries. Coffee comes from airpots or basic machines, not an espresso bar, and usually runs around $3–$5 depending on size. It’s the sort of place you hit when boarding starts in 20 minutes and you don’t want to gamble on a sit-down spot.

Selection leans heavily on branded snacks in single-serve packets and bottled drinks, plus a small section of travel items like earbuds, chargers, and pain relievers. You’ll typically find a refrigerated case with cut fruit cups, string cheese, and maybe hummus packs if they haven’t sold through the morning rush. Alcohol is usually limited to a few kinds of 12 oz or 16 oz canned beer and small wine bottles in the cooler.

Watch out for anything that looks like it’s been sitting: check the sell-by date on salads, cut fruit, and dairy before you pay. Pre-made breakfast sandwiches can dry out under heat lamps after a couple of hours, so grab something from the cold case if it’s already past 10 a.m.

One practical play: grab water and snacks here right after clearing security in Terminal 1, so you’re not stuck with whatever’s left at the smaller kiosks near the far-out gates when your flight from HOU boards late.
