Gate 1 in Terminal 1 means Chick-fil-A is the first real food stop after security.
This Chick-fil-A sits just past screening in Terminal 1 near Gate 1, so you can grab something quick on your way to the A1–A4 cluster. It’s standard mall-style counter service, fast food only, all post-security. If you land at Hobby hungry on a short turn, this is usually the quickest familiar option in this part of the airport.
Prices run in the usual airport-fast-food range: the classic Chicken Sandwich stays close to chain pricing, usually under $7 before tax, with combo meals landing under $12. It’s still one of the cheaper hot-food options in Terminal 1 compared to sit-down spots that push $18–$20 for an entrée. Soft drinks, lemonade, and basic sides like waffle fries are all on the board at standard Chick-fil-A sizes.
The menu sticks to the greatest hits: the original Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken, nuggets, strips, and waffle fries. If you care about speed, the regular Chicken Sandwich is usually the fastest out, since the kitchen batches them. Breakfast hours typically run through late morning with chicken biscuits and minis before the switch to the full daytime menu. Sauces are behind the counter, so ask for specific ones by name instead of hoping they’re pre-set out.
Lines spike around the usual airport peaks: 6–8 a.m. for breakfast and again from about 11 a.m.–1 p.m. for lunch, especially when several flights out of Gate 1 and nearby gates board close together. Seating is shared with the gate area, so expect to eat at the holdroom chairs if all high-tops are taken.
One tip: if your flight departs from a higher-numbered gate, stop here first right after security in Terminal 1, then walk to your gate with food in hand rather than counting on something closer.
