Level 1 parking at HOU has EV chargers right by the terminal.
The EV Charging Stations at William P. Hobby Airport sit in the parking area directly next to Terminal 1, so you walk just a few minutes from your car to the check-in counters. This is standard airport parking, not a separate lot, so you pay the regular terminal parking rate on entry and exit. If you care more about plugging in than saving a few dollars, this is the closest option to the building.
Stations are mixed in with regular spaces near the terminal-facing side of the garage, so you may need to circle a level or two to grab an open plug at busy times like Monday mornings and Sunday evenings. Expect typical Level 2 speeds found at most airports; plan for a slow top-up during a 3–5 hour stay rather than a full charge on a 45-minute pickup. Bring your usual RFID card or app for your charging network, plus a backup payment option.
The chargers sit inside the secure parking area, but they are all pre-security, so you plug in before you head through the TSA checkpoint for Terminal 1. That makes it easy to return on arrival and check that your session actually ran instead of timing out. If you have an early flight before 08:00, show up 15–20 minutes earlier than normal in case all EV spots near the terminal are full and you need to park on a different level.
Final tip: take a quick photo of the charger number and garage level (for example, “Level 1, Column D5”) before you walk to the terminal; HOU’s short walk makes it easy to forget where you left the car after a 3-day trip.
