International Terminal

International Terminal hosts Cubana de Aviación.

Cubana de Aviación runs all flights from HOG’s International Terminal

This International Terminal at Frank País International Airport handles Cubana de Aviación departures and arrivals, so if you are flying Cubana, this is your building. The terminal is small for an international facility, so walking time from check-in to the farthest gate usually stays under 10 minutes.

Security and passport control for the International Terminal sit just past the Cubana de Aviación check-in counters, and lines can vary sharply before morning and early afternoon departures. Plan at least 2 hours before an international Cubana flight here, since there is no secondary terminal to move to if a queue slows down.

Salón VIP is the one listed lounge option

Salón VIP is the only catalogued lounge in HOG’s International Terminal, positioned airside after security so you do not need to exit to the public zone to use it. Access rules and day-pass pricing can change, so check with Cubana de Aviación at check-in or at the lounge desk before counting on entry.

This Salón VIP serves international flights from the same small gate area as Cubana de Aviación, so you can usually walk from the lounge to most boarding doors in under 5 minutes. Because the terminal has limited seating near some gates, the lounge can help if your flight has a long delay and you want a separate waiting room.

Food and shopping are limited in this building

No specific restaurants are catalogued inside the International Terminal at HOG, and there are no listed chain cafés or fast-food counters. Eat before arriving at the airport or bring snacks and water bought in Holguín, since options after security are not clearly documented.

No duty-free or retail shops are currently catalogued inside this International Terminal, so do not count on picking up last-minute toiletries or gifts here. Bring any required items in your carry-on at check-in with Cubana de Aviación, as returning to the public area after security would mean re-clearing controls.

Moving through the International Terminal

The layout stays straightforward: Cubana de Aviación check-in desks line the landside hall, security and immigration sit just beyond, and Salón VIP lies in the airside zone closer to the gates. Because the building is compact, gate changes for Cubana flights rarely add more than a 5-minute walk.

Ground transport stands, including taxis, wait outside the public arrivals area directly in front of the International Terminal doors, so you can be curbside within about 5 minutes of exiting customs. One last tip: bring printed copies of your Cubana de Aviación itinerary, since counters and agents in this terminal may prefer paper over phone screens when checking documents.
