Newsstand

1

Across from several early T1 gates, this basic Newsstand works fast

This Newsstand in Terminal 1 sits airside after security, handy if you’re walking toward the Hawaiian Airlines gates. Think classic airport grab-and-go: magazines, snacks, drinks, and a few travel odds and ends. Inventory leans national, not local, so you’ll see USA Today and People before any deep Hawaii magazine rack.

Hours generally track the first and last Hawaiian departures in T1, roughly 5:00 a.m. to around 9:00 p.m., but smaller flights mean they sometimes close earlier on slow nights. If you’ve got a 6:00 a.m. interisland hop, this is one of the first spots open for bottled water and a quick breakfast bar. Cash and cards both work, and prices sit in normal airport territory, with most single drinks around $3–$5.

Expect standard mainland candy bars, chips, and a tiny cooler of ready-to-drink coffee near the front. You’ll find ibuprofen, antacids, and basic toiletries in a short aisle toward the back, useful if your liquids got pulled at HNL security in Terminal 1. Reading options run light: a few bestsellers, crossword books, and travel-sized kids’ activity packs under $10.

Watch out for last-minute crowds right before banked Hawaiian departures, especially around gates in the 50s and 60s, since everyone hits the single line for water and gum at once. If you care about choice, stop here before you head deeper into the gate area, since options thin out past some of the more remote T1 gates.
