Gate-side beers in Terminal 2

Kona Brewery sits in Terminal 2 at Daniel K. Inouye International, so this is an easy stop if you’re flying Hawaiian or most international carriers from T2. It’s post-security, so you’re already through TSA before you sit down with a pint. Expect a standard airport mix of bar seating and small tables, with TVs usually tuned to sports or news.

The draw here is the tap list built around Kona Brewing Co. beers from Hawaii, with bottles and cans for takeaway if your connecting airport allows it. Prices run at typical mainland airport levels rather than local dive-bar cheap: think high single digits to low teens per draft. Food is pub basics that pair with beer—burgers, fries, maybe a flatbread or two—rather than full-on restaurant dining.

Kona Brewery generally opens in the morning to catch the first wave of T2 departures and stays open into the evening bank of flights; plan on roughly breakfast through dinner hours rather than late-night service after 10 p.m. It works best if you’ve got at least 45 minutes before boarding, since service can slow when multiple widebody flights out of Terminal 2 hit at once.

You’ll usually find a couple of recognizable Kona labels on draft, like Big Wave Golden Ale or Longboard Island Lager, alongside a rotating seasonal. Mixed drinks and house wines fill in the menu for non-beer drinkers. Food portions are airport-standard: enough for a real meal, but priced accordingly. If you only have time for one thing, grab a draft Big Wave and share a basket of fries.

Tip: Check your gate first; if you’re departing from a far T2 pier, give yourself at least 10–15 minutes to walk back after closing your tab at Kona Brewery.
