Car Park 1

Short stay

Five-minute walk from T1: this is Car Park 1

Car Park 1 sits directly next to the passenger terminal at Hong Kong International Airport, with a marked walking route that takes about 5 minutes into T1 check-in. It’s classed as a short-stay facility, so think hours to a couple of days, not a week-long holiday spot.

This is the closest general parking to T1 and T2, which matters if you’re hauling two suitcases and a stroller across the forecourt. Lifts connect the parking levels to the ground-floor walkway, so you stay under cover for almost the entire walk to the terminal doors.

Car Park 1 runs on standard short-stay airport pricing, charging by the hour and then capping at a daily rate after several hours. It’s usually the most expensive option on the airport’s parking list, which is the trade-off for being parked a few hundred metres from T1 and T2 instead of taking a shuttle from a remote lot.

You can pre-book Car Park 1 through the official Hong Kong International Airport parking system, locking in a space for your specific date and time window. Same-day drive-up is possible, but on peak travel days around Golden Week or major holidays, this next-to-terminal car park is often the first to fill.

Security patrols and CCTV cover the multi-storey structure, and lighting stays on through the night on every level. Height limits apply at the entrance, so double-check the posted clearance if you’re in a taller van or SUV before driving into Car Park 1.

Tip: Arriving by car for a morning departure out of T1 or T2, aim to be parked in Car Park 1 at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure; that gives you 5 minutes to walk, plus time for check-in and security without rushing.
