Stockmann Shop

Gate-side department store energy at HEL

Just past security in Terminal 2, Stockmann Shop feels like a mini version of the downtown Helsinki store, squeezed into airport scale. You’ll see it along the main airside corridor between Schengen gates and the central plaza, so you probably walk past it on the way to most European departures. Shelves lean hard into Finnish brands, with Marimekko mugs and Iittala glass often sitting right near the entrance at clearly marked euro prices.

Opening hours track flight banks, usually from early morning departures around 5:00–6:00 until late evening long-hauls leave Terminal 2 after 22:00. This makes it one of the safer last-minute stops if you landed from Terminal 1 and re-cleared security into T2 with only 20–30 minutes spare. You’re paying airport pricing, but not wildly so; small design items and cosmetics sit in the €10–30 range, while bigger branded gifts can push well past €50.

Stockmann Shop splits roughly into three types of stuff: Finnish design and souvenirs, cosmetics and perfume, and travel basics like snacks and accessories. Look for clearly labeled offers on multi-buy chocolate boxes, especially the local Fazer options around €5–8, which beat many of the pure souvenir kiosks on price. Toiletries and makeup mix Stockmann’s usual European labels with travel-sized formats aimed at hand-luggage-only passengers.

If you only have 10 minutes before boarding in Terminal 2, walk the center aisle first: that’s where you’ll find the higher-end gifts and the quicker “grab-and-go” items near the tills. Check your carry-on weight before grabbing heavier ceramics or glass; HEL’s smaller carriers from T2 Schengen gates sometimes enforce the 8 kg cabin limit quite literally at the gate podium.
