Asian Corner

Most HEL food guides list Asian Corner, few flyers mention it

Asian Corner sits airside in Helsinki Airport’s Terminal 2, and it shows up in the official HEL restaurant listings even though frequent-flyer forums barely talk about it. That gap usually means a solid, middle-of-the-road option: not terrible, not a destination, just reliably open when you need something warmer than a grab-and-go sandwich before a Finnair Schengen hop.

Menus here lean pan-Asian: think wok-fried noodles, rice bowls, and basic curry-style dishes, not deep regional specialties. Expect Helsinki-airport pricing, so plan on around €13–€18 for a main and another €3–€5 if you want a soft drink or bottled water. It generally runs through the core flight banks in Terminal 2, targeting the morning and afternoon waves, but it’s worth checking same-day hours on the airport site if you land after 21:00.

Portions tend to be larger than what you get from some of the bakery cafés closer to the gates, which helps if you have a 3–4 hour connection and want one proper meal instead of grazing. The trade-off: food is usually prepped in batches and held, so treat it like fast-casual canteen style rather than made-to-order dining. Expect plastic cutlery and simple tray service, not table service with printed wine lists.

Seats are standard gate-area chairs and small tables with direct line of sight to nearby screens showing Terminal 2 departures, so you can keep an eye on your Finnair AY or other oneworld flight while you eat. Noise level tracks the bank of departures: quiet around 11:00, a bit more hectic near the 17:00–19:00 wave. Wi‑Fi from Helsinki Airport reaches the tables, and you can usually get a quick 20–30 minute meal in without stressing about boarding calls.

Tip: if your layover is under 45 minutes, grab a takeaway noodles or rice bowl from Asian Corner and eat at the gate rather than committing to a sit-down pace anywhere else in Terminal 2.
