Hot breakfast runs until 10:30 in the Finnair Business Lounge by Gate 52.
This is the non-Schengen Finnair Business Lounge in Terminal 2, just off Gate 52, and it’s the main AY/Oneworld space for US and Asia departures. It opens at 05:30 and stays open until 00:00, so almost every long-haul bank is covered. Access runs off Finnair and oneworld rules on the non‑Schengen side; there’s no simple walk-up day pass here, and paying separately via third parties often gets called a waste of money by regulars.
Layout is classic HEL: long room, apron views, plenty of 220V and USB power outlets at almost every second seat. Compared with the Schengen Finnair lounge that people slam as “pretty crappy” and not worth 39€, this side feels more put-together, particularly around the business area closest to Gate 52. It does still get rammed during the Asia/US departure wave, roughly 16:00–18:00, when finding two seats together can take a few laps.
Food tracks the schedule: hot breakfast with eggs and Finnish standards runs until 10:30, then a rotating lunch and dinner buffet kicks in for the rest of the day. Feedback from FlyerTalk calls out the canapés and warm dishes as solid but not restaurant-level, with better variety after the morning bank dies down. Coffee machines are self-serve and decent; beer and basic wine are on tap, with a smaller spirits selection than you’d see in bigger Oneworld hubs.
Showers sit in the non‑Schengen lounge core, again near Gate 52, and are one of the main reasons long‑haul flyers pick this space over hanging around the public terminal. There aren’t many cubicles, so during the 16:00–18:00 push you may see a queue and a basic sign-up list at reception. Water pressure and heat get good marks; toiletries are standard Finnair brand, not luxury, but enough for a reset before a 9–10 hour sector.
Access rules matter: flying AY in business or holding oneworld Sapphire usually gets you in automatically, and frequent HEL regulars on FlyerTalk warn that paying extra for generic “Finnair lounge” access when you already qualify is throwing away 30–40€. Diners Club has historically worked for the main lounges here, though not the premium side, and status holders mention that a long‑haul business boarding pass plus card status often smooths edge cases on connections.
To avoid the worst crowds, target this lounge either before 09:00 or after about 19:00; for a quick hit, grab a hot plate right after the 10:30 breakfast-to-lunch flip, then shower while everyone else is still at the buffet.
