Electric Vehicle Charging

Level 2 chargers sit in the main Yampa Valley Airport lot

These Electric Vehicle Charging spots sit right in the primary HDN parking area, a short walk from the terminal doors. You park once, plug in, and leave the car for your full trip instead of juggling off-site chargers in Steamboat or Hayden.

Pricing aligns with the regular airport parking rate, billed per day, so you are paying /day for both parking and access to the charger. There is no separate session fee listed, just the standard daily parking charge on your ticket.

The chargers use standard Level 2 connectors (J1772-style hardware is typical at small Colorado airports), which suits most plug-in hybrids and many full EVs. If you drive a Tesla, plan on bringing your J1772 adapter so you can use the same stalls without hunting for a Supercharger on I-80 or US-40.

Spots are limited, and winter ski season at HDN gets busy fast, so do not assume an open EV bay on a Saturday morning in February. This lot sits on airport property, which means plows hit it early during snow, but you still want extra time to deal with weather and possibly shuffle to a regular spot if chargers are full.

There is no staffed attendant dedicated to the Electric Vehicle Charging area, just standard airport parking oversight, so treat the charger like any other long-term stall. The safest move: arrive at least 20–30 minutes earlier than your normal parking routine to find a space, plug in, confirm your car is actually charging, and still make it through check-in and security without stress.
