Cascade Bar sits airside in T1, just past security and before the Hobart International boarding gates, and it’s where locals line up for one more Cascade brew before the flight. It’s the main bar in the post-security area, so if you want a drink at HBA after screening, this is basically the option.

Prices land in the midrange for an airport bar: expect around $10–$12 for a schooner of local Tasmanian beer and roughly $15–$25 for basic pub-style mains or bar snacks, depending on the day’s menu. You pay at the counter, grab a table that looks out toward the single concourse, and keep an eye on the few departure screens nearby.

The draw here is simple: order a Cascade on tap, brewed in South Hobart about 15 minutes’ drive from the airport, and skip anything you can easily get back on the mainland. Staff are used to quick turnarounds for 30–40 minute boarding calls, so you can usually get a drink in under 5 minutes outside of the early-morning bank of departures.

Food is basic Australian bar fare that pairs with beer: think chips, burgers, maybe a parma or similar at around the $20 mark, varying a bit by season and supplier. If you only have 20 minutes, stick to fries or something shareable; mains can take closer to 15 minutes when a couple of flights depart at once from T1.

Seating is open to the concourse with around a few dozen chairs and tables spread near the windows that look onto the Hobart apron and single runway. Power outlets are limited to a few spots along the wall, so charge your phone at the gate if you plan to sit here for more than 30 minutes with a beer.
