Right after customs in T3 arrivals, there’s your first rum stop
In Terminal 3 arrivals at HAV, a small “Rum and Cigar Shop Arrivals” sits just past customs, before you exit into the public hall. It’s landside but still inside the building, so you can grab a bottle before hunting for taxis or ATMs. Travellers report spotting Havana Club on the shelves within two minutes of clearing the baggage hall.
The shop mainly stocks standard Havana Club labels and basic cigar packs, not limited editions or gift sets. Expect the classic 3 Años and 7 Años, plus a few mid-range options, at prices a bit higher than central Havana state shops. Reddit reports “slightly higher, but not crazy” markup compared to buying the same bottle in Vedado or Old Havana.
Opening hours track typical arrival banks in Terminal 3, roughly daytime into late evening, but there are gaps: several trip reports mention the shutters down for very late-night or early-morning flights after midnight. If you land on an 01:30 arrival from Europe, don’t count on it being open; a few FlyerTalk posts confirm walking past a dark storefront at that time.
Regular Cuba hands use this place only when they reach HAV after city shop hours. They’ll grab a single 750 ml bottle of Havana Club 7 Años here, then buy more in town the next day. Others pick up one bottle plus a small cigar sampler to share with their casa hosts on the first night, especially if they’re staying far from a state liquor shop.
Tip: check the shop as soon as you leave customs in Terminal 3; if the shutters are down, head straight to your taxi and plan on buying in Havana the following morning.
