Duty Free Terminal 3

Rum, cigars, and not much else in T3 airside

Inside Terminal 3 after security, Duty Free Terminal 3 sits near the main international gates and mainly pushes Cuban rum, cigars, and a few last-minute souvenirs. Regulars on FlyerTalk say this is a “use up leftover CUP” stop, not a serious shopping run. Shelves look sparse compared with big hubs like PTY or MEX, and the core stock barely extends beyond liquor, tobacco, some chocolates, and a handful of magnets and T‑shirts.

Pricing is mixed: several reviewers note rum is only slightly cheaper than Havana city shops once you use a realistic street exchange rate, sometimes by just a couple of euros per bottle. Packaged snacks and toiletries often cost more than in central Havana when converted. If you want specific brands of Havana Club or Cohiba, buy in town at the official government stores and treat this place as backup rather than plan A.

Stock is unpredictable week to week; FlyerTalk reports certain rum labels available on arrival at T3 simply disappear on departure a few days later. Multiple Skytrax and Tripadvisor reviews mention “empty shelves” and “very limited selection,” so don’t count on finding a particular cigar vitola or exact chocolate brand. Several Reddit users also complain about slow payment, dual-currency confusion, and lines that drag even though the shop is small.

What regulars do: they grab main rum and cigars in Havana, bring snacks from home, and only stop here to burn spare local cash or top up an extra bottle within their duty-free allowance. One practical tip: if you see a bottle you want when you first walk past, take it then—stock can be gone by the time you board from nearby gates in Terminal 3.
