Aldeasa Duty Free

Gate 8 in Central terminal puts you right by Aldeasa Duty Free

Aldeasa Duty Free sits airside in the Central terminal at La Aurora International Airport (GUA), near gates 6–10, so you walk past it on most international departures. It opens early with the first outbound banks and typically stays open until the last evening flights board, so you can grab last-minute items on both morning and night departures.

Liquor shelves run from local Guatemalan rums up through major global brands, usually in the US$15–40 range for 750 ml bottles. Watch for the 1-liter travel exclusives at slightly better per-liter pricing than the regular sizes. Stock turns over often enough that dust-covered bottles aren’t really a thing here.

The cosmetics and fragrance section skews toward mainstream names, with frequent two-for deals on mid-range perfumes and skincare sets. Expect duty-free pricing to beat downtown mall shops by a few dollars per item, but not by half. If you care about batch codes or newer releases, plan to double-check labels; staff here moves quickly but doesn’t always know product trivia.

Snacks and chocolate sit by the main aisle, with Guatemalan coffee bags starting around US$8 and gift tins of sweets in the US$10–20 band. The souvenir side leans on logo mugs, magnets, and airport-grade textiles rather than artisan crafts, so do your serious gift shopping in the city and treat this as backup.

Quick tip: prices are in US dollars and quetzales, cards are accepted, and queues spike 30–45 minutes before large US-bound departures, so shop earlier in your layover, then head to your gate.
