Same $15 rate as the garage, but open-air and walkable

For Long-Term Parking at GSO, you’re in a surface lot directly across from the Main Terminal, capped at $15 per 24 hours. Think “garage-lite”: you still get a short 4-minute walk to check-in, but you’re in the open instead of under concrete. The airport treats these surface long-term rows as the same product as the central decks, just without a roof.

These lots sit in front of the terminal, past the main access road and crosswalks, so you’re on foot, not waiting on a shuttle that doesn’t exist here. Local posters on Tripadvisor say they leave their car in the regular long-term or daily lots at GSO with no safety issues and see no need to hunt for off-site parking in Greensboro or High Point.

Pricing is simple: you pay the long-term rate with hourly increments up to that $15 daily cap, matching the long-term garage and decks listed on PTI’s parking page. For most trips of three days or longer, this works out cheaper than racking up short-term charges in the closer premium areas, and the walk is basically the same once you’re past the crosswalk.

Surface long-term regulars try to grab the rows closest to the marked terminal crosswalks first, so they keep the walk to around 3–4 minutes even with kids or roll-aboards. When a big furniture market or college event hits the Triad, those front rows can fill early in the day, pushing late arrivals into the slightly more distant sections of the same long-term field.

Watch out for summer heat: reviewers mention coming back to cars that feel like an oven in July and August, especially compared with the cooler covered decks in the garage. In winter, the no-shuttle setup can be annoying with heavy bags in rain or a cold snap, even if the distance is short. Tip: snap a photo of your row sign and the nearest crosswalk number before you head to the terminal so you’re not wandering the lot after a late arrival.
