Dufry Shopping

2

Right in Terminal 2, Dufry Shopping is the main duty-free stop for GRU’s mid-haul and domestic connections.

You’ll pass it in the main departures area of Terminal 2, after security, so it’s hard to miss on the way to most 200–299 gates. Stock leans classic duty‑free: liquor, perfume, cosmetics, chocolate, Brazilian coffee, and some fashion and accessories. This is the default place to grab last‑minute gifts without backtracking across the terminal.

Prices track typical international duty‑free: big-brand whisky and gin bottles often sit around 20–30% below Brazilian street prices, while cosmetics and perfume can be closer to what you’d see in Europe. Tobacco is here as well, with clear signage on Brazilian allowance limits in kilograms and carton counts. Card payment is standard, and you can usually pay in BRL, USD, or EUR on the same terminal.

Selection is strongest on global brands: think Johnnie Walker, Absolut, Dior, Lancôme, Lindt, and similar names you’d see in any major hub. Local touches show up in cachaça bottles, Brazilian coffee packs, and regional chocolate brands, but they don’t dominate the shelves. If you’re chasing very niche labels, you’ll likely walk the aisles for 10 minutes and still come up short.

Lines peak in the 18:00–22:00 window as long‑haul flights out of Terminal 2 board, and that’s when checkout can stretch to 10–15 minutes. Staff usually handle tax‑free questions in English and Portuguese without much fuss. One practical move: photograph prices on the arrivals Dufry in Brazil earlier in your trip and compare; at GRU T2 departures you sometimes find the same bottle a few reais higher, so it pays to check before you commit.
