R$10 beers at 3 a.m. hit different at GRU T2
Monster sits landside in Terminal 2, before security, and stays open 24 horas, so it works for both late-night arrivals and painfully early departures. It’s a local bar first, coffee stop second: expect bottles and draft, basic cocktails, espresso, and a short snack menu, all at true “$” pricing by airport standards.
Because it’s pre-security in T2, Monster is easiest if you’re checking in with airlines using Terminal 2 or waiting on someone landing into GRU. You can linger over a beer instead of standing at the curb, then walk five minutes to most T2 check-in islands. If you’re flying out of Terminal 3, build in at least 15–20 minutes to move over after paying the bill.
Pricing is low for an airport: beers usually sit in the R$8–R$15 range, simple mixed drinks land around R$20, and bar snacks like fries or pão de queijo often come in under R$20 as well. That keeps a quick round for two easily under R$60, which is rare at GRU. It’s an easy upgrade over grabbing a warm water and chips from a kiosk.
Monster leans local: you’ll see Brazilian lagers on tap, canned energy drinks, and the usual airport crowd cycling through from 06:00 to 23:00, with a quieter window after midnight even though the sign says 24 horas. With a 4.3 rating online, expectations should sit at “solid bar in an airport terminal,” not cocktail destination.
Tip: if you have a long layover and land into Terminal 2, hit Monster first for a drink and bathroom break, then head through security; coming back landside again later will cost you another full security run.
