T1 ★ 5 $$$$ Post-security

Gate-side in T1, this is your last real Ligurian stop

Briccocafè sits airside in T1 after security, so you can grab actual Genoa staples right before boarding. It’s a small local Ligurian cafe with a rock-solid 5.0 rating and prices in the low range, more bar-tab than restaurant bill. Think quick counter service, stand or sit, then walk a few steps back to your gate.

The headliner here is focaccia: classic Genovese sheets, warmed up, usually under €5 a portion. You’ll spot trays behind the glass with olive oil shimmering on top and sometimes onion or cheese versions mixed in. It holds up better than most airport bread, so it’s an easy take-on-board option that still tastes fine an hour later.

Pesto gets its own moment too. They often do pesto-filled focaccia or simple pesto sandwiches, giving you that basil, pine nut, and Parmigiano punch without committing to a full plate of pasta. Expect prices again in the single digits, so you’re not dropping more than €10 unless you start adding drinks and sweets.

Save room for something sweet: pandolce shows up here in slices or small loaves, a nice send-off if you’re leaving Liguria. One piece runs just a few euros and works as an in-flight snack or a soft “souvenir” if you forgot to buy anything in town. Compared to standard packaged cookies in duty free, this feels a lot more local and costs less.

Coffee is straight Italian bar style, with espresso and cappuccino usually under €3, so you can pair a shot with your focaccia without thinking about it. No major complaints show up in reviews, just the usual airport rush at peak morning and evening banks in T1.

Hit Briccocafè right after security in T1, before you drift toward your gate, so you catch the best focaccia trays before they thin out.
