Tailwind Gift Shop

Gate-side timing tip: Tailwind Gift Shop sits in Terminal T

Tailwind Gift Shop sits airside in Terminal T at Gainesville Regional, after the single security checkpoint, so you pass it on the way to every gate. It’s one of the only spots in GNV for last-minute souvenirs and basics once you’re through screening, so don’t count on browsing elsewhere in the terminal.

Hours track flight banks: Tailwind generally opens before the first morning departures around 5:00–5:30 a.m. and stays open through the last evening flights, usually until around 8:00–9:00 p.m. If you’re on the first Delta or American morning run, you can usually grab something before boarding; late-night delays are more hit-or-miss as staff close up after the final scheduled service.

Pricing runs at standard small-airport levels: expect bottled drinks in the $3–$5 range and basic snacks in the $2–$6 range. Local-logo T‑shirts and Gators gear often land in the $20–$40 band, with smaller souvenirs and keychains under $10. It’s not a bargain stop, but it’s reasonable compared with other regional US airports of GNV’s size.

Stock skews to travel needs and local themes: think Gator-branded apparel from Gainesville and Florida postcards on one side, then neck pillows, phone chargers, and headphones on the other. If you forgot sunscreen for a beach leg from here, you can usually find a small bottle along with basic OTC meds. Selection is tighter than at big hubs, so specific brands or sizes aren’t guaranteed.

Figure 5–10 minutes to loop the shop and pay, even with a short line, so don’t try to squeeze it in during a tight 15-minute boarding call; swing through right after security instead and walk to your gate with time to spare.
