Gate-side sausage rolls at 3 a.m. in T1

Greggs in Terminal 1 sits airside at Glasgow Airport and keeps the lights on 24 hours a day, which matters on those brutal 05:55 departures. It’s a straight shot for quick Food & Drink: hot pastries, sandwiches, and strong filter coffee without the sit-down delay.

Because it’s open 24/7, this is one of the few spots where you can grab something warm after midnight or during a 04:00 security run. Pricing tracks typical UK high-street Greggs levels, not “airport markup x3,” so you’re usually paying normal shop prices for sausage rolls, steak bakes, and breakfast items.

Morning rush in T1 hits hard between roughly 05:00 and 07:30, and Greggs is no exception, so expect a short queue then. Turnover is fast, though, and pasties, bacon rolls, and coffee move quickly, so stock tends to be fresh. If you care about heat, ask for a pastry straight from the oven rather than one that’s been sitting.

Food is grab-and-go only, no table service. Figure 3–5 minutes from ordering to walking away, even with a line of 8–10 people, which works fine if your gate is nearby in Terminal 1. Card and contactless payment are standard, so no need to dig for small change before a 06:00 flight.

Tip: If your boarding pass says Terminal 1 and your time to departure is under 20 minutes, Greggs is the fastest hot option; join the shortest queue and stick to pastries or pre-made cold sandwiches, not custom drinks.
