First 10 minutes right at the terminal doors

Pick Up and Drop Off Zone sits directly opposite Glasgow Airport Terminal 1, a short, level walk from the main departures entrance. This is an express drop-off lane, not long-stay parking, and it’s built around very short visits measured in minutes, not hours. Barriers control entry and exit, and cameras log your number plate the second you roll in.

Charges here run on a sharp per‑minute style tariff: the first few minutes are the cheapest way to get someone to the terminal doors, but the cost climbs quickly after that. You’re in the same forecourt area as taxis and some private hire cars, closer than the multi‑storey short-stay across the internal road. There’s no need to enter a car park structure or find a bay; you stop in a marked lane, drop bags, say goodbye, and move on.

This zone serves both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with walking time to either check‑in area usually under 3 minutes at normal traffic. There are marked pedestrian crossings from the drop-off side across to the terminal frontage, so passengers don’t have to weave through moving cars. Signage on the approach roads calls it “Pick Up & Drop Off,” and the lane layout funnels you so there’s only one way in and out.

There’s no pre-booking here, no keeping the car while you walk inside to Costa, and no leaving the vehicle unattended for long. If you need more than 10–15 minutes or expect delays, the multi‑storey short-stay by Terminal 1 usually works out cheaper.

Tip: Have bags ready in the boot and know the airline and terminal before entering the zone; every extra minute you spend deciding at the kerb costs money.
