Terminal 2

1 airline

Terminal 2 hosts Calafia Airlines.

Most passenger flights at GDL still use Terminal 1, not T2

Terminal 2 at Guadalajara International Airport (code 2) sits off to the side of the main passenger complex and currently links mostly to cargo and non‑passenger operations, even though Calafia Airlines is listed against it. If your confirmation just says “GDL” without a terminal, you almost always end up in Terminal 1, so double‑check your email or the airline’s app before you head out to the airport.

Calafia Airlines is the only carrier officially tied to Terminal 2 at Guadalajara, and schedules can shift between Terminal 1 and 2 depending on the day and season. Because of that, it’s worth checking Calafia’s site or calling their customer service line a day or two before departure to confirm which building they’re actually using for your specific flight number.

Inside Terminal 2, facilities are extremely limited compared with Terminal 1, where you find multiple restaurants, duty free near the international gates, and several shops. Current public information lists no sit‑down restaurants, no branded lounges, and no retail stores inside Terminal 2, so plan to arrive having already eaten and with water and snacks bought in the landside area near Terminal 1 if your route or airline info sends you to T2.

Security in Terminal 2 generally handles far fewer people than the main building, and reports from airport resources suggest shorter lines than the busy checkpoints in Terminal 1, which can hit 20–40 minutes in the morning. That said, standard international rules still apply, so liquids over 100 ml and sharp items get pulled, and you should treat it like any other checkpoint even if there are only a handful of passengers ahead of you.

Terminal transfers at GDL always involve the two numbered terminals, 1 and 2, and there is no separate Terminal 3. The walk between buildings runs roughly 5–10 minutes depending on your pace, so if you arrive into Terminal 1 and somehow need Terminal 2 for a later leg on Calafia or another operation, you can do it on foot without needing a shuttle.

Because Terminal 2 has no catalogued lounges, you won’t find Priority Pass, airline clubs, or pay‑per‑use spaces there, whereas Terminal 1 has at least one independent lounge past security near certain gates. If you hold a premium credit card or lounge membership, use any lounge time in Terminal 1 before moving over, since there’s nowhere to sit privately or grab free drinks in T2 at this point.

One last tip: build a buffer of at least 30–45 minutes if you need to walk from Terminal 1 to 2, clear security, and find check‑in for Calafia Airlines, and keep a screenshot of your terminal assignment on your phone so you can show airport staff if signage at GDL still mostly points people toward Terminal 1.
