Yoshoku baked doria at Fukuoka Domestic is the move

In the Domestic terminal at Fukuoka Airport, Kobe Motomachi Doria stands out because it does yoshoku-style baked rice gratin instead of the usual ramen-and-curry routine. Think rice in a hot gratin dish with white sauce, cheese, and toppings, browned under a salamander. Expect mains in the ¥1,000–¥1,400 range, so squarely mid-priced for a sit-down meal airside.

The menu leans hard into doria and gratin: shrimp doria with cream sauce, hamburger steak doria with demi-glace, and seafood gratin are the headliners. Portions run bigger than a standard donburi, and plates come out in hot cast-iron or ceramic, so you actually feel like you ate a full meal before a 90-minute ANA hop. There are usually a few sets with salad and drink for around ¥1,300–¥1,600.

Service is quick by restaurant standards: you order, and most dorias hit the table in about 10–15 minutes because they’re prepped and finished in the oven. That makes it workable even on a 45–60 minute pre-boarding window in the Domestic terminal. It’s more sit-down than food court stall, with proper tables instead of counter-only seating, so it’s an easier choice if you’re juggling a rollaboard and laptop bag.

If you like heavier Western-style flavors, the hamburger doria with demi-glace is the safe call; if you want something lighter, go shrimp or seafood and skip extras like cheese add-ons. Drinks run standard soft drinks, coffee, and tea in the ¥300–¥500 band, which is normal airport pricing. There’s no standout dessert, so don’t build your schedule around sweets here.

Tip: plan at least 30 minutes gate-to-gate: 5–10 minutes walk from most Domestic gates, 10–15 minutes for the kitchen, and another 10 minutes to eat a lava-hot gratin without burning your mouth before boarding starts.
