Cafeteria Medas barely shows up in FUE trip reports
This place sits airside in T1 at Fuerteventura Airport and still almost never gets named in traveller reviews, which tells you expectations should stay low. It runs as a standard café/bar setup in the departures area, with the usual mix of coffee, soft drinks, beer and simple snacks. The airport lists it alongside the other food options, but with a 2-star average rating you’re here for something quick and functional, not a long sit-down meal.
You’ll find Cafeteria Medas after security in T1, so you’re safe on time once you’ve cleared the scanners. Prices run on typical Spanish-airport lines: think 2–3 € for a basic coffee and 4–6 € for pre-made sandwiches or pastries, based on comparable outlets at FUE. It’s self-service style at the counter, with trays and cold items in display cases, so factor in a short queue at peak times when multiple flights out of the Schengen gates board close together.
The airport’s own listing only calls it a café/bar, with no signature dishes, so expect industrial pastries, simple bocadillos, and beer on tap rather than anything cooked to order. Given the 2 rating, treat hot food that’s been sitting under heat lamps with suspicion and stick to items that clearly just came out of a package or the coffee machine. If you want a proper meal, you’ll probably be happier eating earlier landside in Puerto del Rosario or Corralejo and using Medas only for a drink top-up.
Since there are no strong regulars’ tips or standout menu items documented, the safest play is basic: espresso, bottled water, maybe a packaged snack to get you through a 3–4 hour flight. Card payment is standard, and you’re in Spain so contactless works without drama. One practical move: grab what you need here right after security in T1 so you’re not stuck in a long line closer to your gate when several departures stack up.
