Economy Lot (South Lot) undercuts the Long Term Surface lot by $2 per day, with a simple rate: $2 for up to 1 hour, $2 each additional hour, max $10 per 24 hours. It sits about 0.7 miles from Terminal T, so you trade a closer walk for real savings, especially on trips longer than three or four days.

This is an uncovered, remote lot about a 20-minute walk from the terminal if you’re fine rolling a bag along airport roads and sidewalks. It’s officially on-airport and run by Sioux Falls Regional, not a third party, and often shows 1,000+ open spaces on the airport’s own occupancy stats. If the main garages look slammed, Economy South usually still has room.

One key quirk: only Economy South supports online reservations. The airport notes that pre-booking is limited to economy parking, so this is the only official FSD lot you can lock in ahead of time; every other lot is drive-up only. Price-focused regulars grab reservations here over holidays to avoid circling the terminal or getting pushed off-airport at the last minute.

Locals doing week-long trips often park in Economy South instead of the garages and save around $8–$15 per day over higher-tier options. At a full seven days, that’s roughly $56–$105 back in your pocket, at the cost of the extra 0.7-mile walk each way.
