Gate-side groceries in Terminal 1

Edeka in Frankfurt Terminal 1 runs like a normal German supermarket dropped into the airport, with shelves of basics instead of duty-free perfume. You get real milk, yogurt, fruit, sandwiches, and snacks at standard city prices instead of the usual markups. It sits airside in T1, so you can grab things after security and head straight to your gate.

Opening hours typically cover the main bank of departures from early morning into the evening, so a 07:30 flight out of Terminal 1 still leaves time to stock up. Expect supermarket pricing: a bottle of water comes in around 1–2 €, takeaway sandwiches land in the 3–5 € range, and basic toiletries stay close to what you’d pay downtown.

The food mix runs from fresh bakery items and packaged bread to cold cuts, cheese, and salads, which works well if you want to build your own meal before a long-haul from T1. There are sweets, chocolate bars, crisps, and nuts for short hops across Europe, plus juices and soft drinks in the fridge section. Alcohol and local German treats also sit on the shelves if you need a last-minute gift.

One practical tip: pick up a couple of 0.5 L bottles and some snacks here before you walk to the non-Schengen gates in Terminal 1, where choice gets thinner and prices jump noticeably.
