Restaurant and Bar

Airport food at FPO is currently a moving target

Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO) is in redevelopment, and there’s no reliable, named sit-down spot matching “Restaurant and Bar” in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 right now. Recent photos from 2023–2024 show construction barriers and temporary facilities, with only basic snack and drink options mentioned by travelers. Treat any “Restaurant and Bar” listing in apps or maps as placeholder info, not a guarantee of a full-service menu or bar seating.

Inside security at FPO, expect minimal hot food and plan around that: think packaged chips for about $3–5, bottled drinks in the $3–4 range, and maybe a grab-and-go sandwich or patty if a kiosk is operating. There’s no current proof of printed menus, table service, or mixed drinks under the generic “Restaurant and Bar” name. If you want a real meal, you’re still better off eating in Freeport before you head to the airport, then using the airport only for a light top-up.

Because Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 share the same small field and both are under active improvement projects announced in 2022, food offerings can change quietly without updated signage or websites. Staff at FPO have been known to point passengers to a single stand for coffee and a sandwich, with very limited hours that may not match early-morning departures around 7:00 or late-evening arrivals after 20:00. Don’t bank on sit-down dining, and don’t assume a bar with draft beer or cocktails is running just because it appears in a directory.

Practical tip: eat a proper meal in town at least 60–90 minutes before your flight, then arrive at FPO with snacks and an empty water bottle; treat “Restaurant and Bar” as a bonus if you actually see it open after you clear security.
