Hering

Gate-side basics near T1 departures: Hering keeps it simple

Hering sits airside in Terminal T1 at Pinto Martins (FOR), close enough to the main domestic gates that you can browse and still hear boarding calls. It’s a Brazilian clothing chain, so expect the same feel as in-town malls, just in airport form. Stock skews casual: T‑shirts, polos, lightweight hoodies, jeans, and underwear that work for a quick wardrobe fix before or after a flight.

Pricing tracks normal Brazilian mall levels, not luxury: expect basic T‑shirts in the R$40–R$80 range and jeans from roughly R$120 upward, depending on promos. That makes it less painful than the usual airport markup when you need a clean shirt after a long-haul or a spare layer for an overcooled cabin. Payment is standard: major credit cards taken, and Brazilian cards can usually split into installments.

Selection at this T1 branch leans seasonally light because Fortaleza runs hot most of the year: more cotton tees and shorts, fewer heavy sweaters. Sizes generally cover P–GG, but stock in the larger end can run thin by evening. Quality is consistent with Hering on the street: solid basics, simple cuts, nothing too trendy. If you care about logos, note that many pieces are plain or have a very small mark.

Figure 10–15 minutes for a full pass through the racks if you’re picky about fit. Hering bags items quickly, so a T‑shirt swap can be a 5‑minute in‑and‑out stop if your gate in T1 is nearby. Tip: try on tops before you buy; Brazil’s P/M/G sizing runs smaller than typical US and European cuts.
