Gate-side flip-flops at T1
Right in Fortaleza’s T1, Havaianas sells the same Brazil-famous rubber flip-flops you see all over town, but at airport markups. It sits airside after security, so you can grab a pair even on a tight domestic connection. Stock focuses on classic styles, not deep seasonal lines, so don’t expect the full catalog you’d find in a big city mall.
Prices run higher than city shops: simple adult pairs often sit in the R$45–R$70 range, with themed or licensed prints jumping closer to R$90. Kids’ sizes and basic solid colors usually cost less, but still more than in downtown Fortaleza. If you’re on a long layover over 2 hours, you’ll save money buying in town instead.
The store typically opens early in the morning to catch the first wave of departures and stays open into late evening, roughly tracking T1’s busiest flight banks. Stock turns over quickly on weekends and holidays, so specific colors or sizes (especially 37–39) can vanish by late Sunday. Staff usually flip between Portuguese and basic English, enough to sort sizing and payment.
Payment is straightforward: they accept major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard, plus contactless, and Brazilian debit. Receipts show Brazilian reais, so keep that if you need to claim back on a work trip. If you’re between sizes, try the next one up and walk a 10-meter loop in-store before you pay; sizing runs a bit small.
