FLR T1 has slim food choices, and Briciole fills a gap.
In Terminal T1 at Florence Airport, Briciole basically shows up as the café option on the official airport map when you clear security. It carries a middle-of-the-road rating of 3 out of 5, which matches what you see on the ground: standard airport bar-café, nothing special, but not a disaster either. If your flight out of FLR is short-haul within Europe and you just need coffee and a bite before boarding, this is one of only a handful of food spots you’ll actually find.
Briciole sits airside in T1, so you need to pass security before you can use it. That matters at FLR because there’s very little on the landside side of the terminal, and security can bunch up around the 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00 bank of departures. If you arrive at the airport with about 75 minutes before departure, plan to clear security first, then use Briciole as your backup plan for food and drinks near the gates.
Expect typical Italian bar basics here: espresso, cappuccino, bottled water, soft drinks, and simple snacks like cornetti or packaged sandwiches at prices a bit above downtown Florence cafés. Think in the €2–€3 range for coffee and €5–€8 for something more substantial, based on general FLR pricing. With a 3-star reputation and zero real chatter from frequent flyers, it’s not the place to experiment with anything fancy or time-consuming; stick to quick items you can see in the display case.
There’s no strong pattern of regulars or must-order dishes reported, and no consistent complaints beyond the general “FLR is limited” comments across review sites. Seating can get scarce around peak departure times when a couple of A320s board at once, especially near Schengen gates. The practical play: grab your coffee or snack here, then walk toward your exact gate number and finish it there so you’re in position when boarding at T1 starts around 30–40 minutes before departure.
