Address
Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR), airside, after security checks and duty free shops on the 1st floor, Florence, Italy

Gate 1 is about 30 seconds from the VIP CLUB Lounge door.

The lounge sits just past security in T1 by Gate 1, so it works for a quick sit-down after you clear screening. Hours run daily from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm, which covers the first Florence departures and most evening flights. If your gate is in the low single digits, you’re basically next door.

Access is via Priority Pass or a paid day pass at €45 per person, VAT included. That’s not cheap given what’s inside, so the math only works if the terminal is packed and you really want a seat and Wi‑Fi. If you already hold Priority Pass, it’s worth walking over to check the crowd level before committing to stay.

FlyerTalk reports the space is fairly small, split into roughly three seating areas, and it fills quickly during morning and late-afternoon banks. Multiple reviews mention seats being almost completely full, so don’t expect to spread out with two carry-ons and a laptop on its own chair. Figure this as a 30–40 minute pause, not a half-day workspace.

Food is basic: travellers report options limited to packaged snacks rather than hot dishes or fresh meals. Think packets, not plates. Drinks are self-serve and fine for a coffee or soft drink before a 07:30 departure, but this is not where you come for a proper breakfast or dinner. Eat in the main terminal if you need a real meal over 500 calories.

Wi‑Fi gets good marks in reviews, with one user calling out that it “worked well” even as the room filled. Power outlets exist but are not at every seat, so charge your phone above 70% before you walk in. One FlyerTalk post notes the bathrooms as clean, and there’s no evidence of showers or nap rooms anywhere in the lounge.

Furniture draws regular complaints: travellers mention old and damaged chairs and tables, along with slow clearing of empty plates and cups at busy times. That lines up with the overall profile: functional but tired. If you’re sensitive to worn upholstery or cluttered tables, keep expectations low and treat it as a step up from standing in the gate area.

Regulars tend to drop in right at opening around 5:00–6:00 am or between mid-morning and early afternoon, before the next departure wave hits. They use it as a short stop to check email, hit the restroom, and grab packaged snacks for later. Tip: before you scan your Priority Pass, peek through the door from the corridor by Gate 1—if every visible seat is taken, you’re usually better off in the main terminal.
