Gate-side bagels in Terminal 1
In Fort Lauderdale’s Terminal 1, Einstein Bros. Bagels gives you a quick breakfast option that isn’t another generic pastry case. It sits post-security, so you can grab a bagel sandwich and walk straight to your gate in under five minutes in most of T1’s concourses.
Expect the usual Einstein lineup: plain, everything, sesame, and asiago bagels, plus cream cheeses and egg sandwiches that usually run in the $6–$10 range. Coffee is standard drip and espresso-based drinks; plan on around $3–$5 for a cup, which lands cheaper than many sit-down spots in FLL.
Einstein in Terminal 1 opens early enough to catch the first bank of departures, typically around 5:00 a.m., and tends to wind down by early evening, roughly 7:00–8:00 p.m. That timing works well if you’re on a 6:30 a.m. Southwest or United flight and need something you can eat in the boarding area.
The menu is heavy on handhelds, which helps if you’re boarding from gates in the low 20s and need to keep moving. A bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel is the safest bet; it holds up better than the thinner bagels during a crowded boarding call and still tastes decent 30 minutes later on a short hop to Orlando or Tampa.
Lines spike around the 7:00–9:00 a.m. departure wave out of Terminal 1, and waits can hit 10–15 minutes. If you’re in that window, order your bagel sandwich first, then grab bottled drinks from the cooler while they prepare it to save a couple of minutes.
Tip: If your flight leaves from the higher-numbered gates in T1, budget an extra 5–10 minutes to walk there after picking up your bagel so you’re not eating while sprinting down the concourse.
