Air France runs this Salon Madinina space in Terminal A
Think small outstation lounge, not a flagship hub. Salon Madinina sits airside in the main Terminal A, used mainly by Air France and Priority Pass holders during the evening departure bank. It opens around 16:00 and closes at 22:00, roughly matching the long-haul wave, so don’t plan on a midday stay here.
The room itself is compact and windowless, with seating that fills quickly once the Air France flights to Paris CDG and ORY start boarding. Reviews on LoungeReview call it “basic and small,” and that tracks: expect armchairs lined up close together, a TV or two, and not much privacy. Compared with the older, crowded main terminal at FDF, it still feels like a step up, but only just.
Hours are tight: 16:00–22:00 daily, and the airport itself largely shuts down after that, as SleepingInAirports notes. Access is via eligible Air France tickets, Flying Blue status, or Priority Pass on participating flights. If your departure is earlier than 16:00, you simply won’t get in; build your expectations around an early-evening stop, not an all-day office.
Food is the main compromise. Regulars report snacks only: packaged items, light cold bites, and basic pastries, nothing like a hot buffet you’d find in bigger Air France lounges. Drinks usually cover soft drinks, juice, and standard alcoholic options, enough for a pre-flight apéro but not a full bar session. Eat a real meal in the public area before clearing security if you need something substantial.
Amenities are barebones. LoungeReview lists air conditioning, TVs, magazines, and flight monitors, but no showers, so don’t count on a full refresh after a day on the island. Wi‑Fi runs off the airport’s “FREEWIFIFDF” network, which asks for a phone number; many guests just log in once in the terminal and keep that connection going inside.
Regulars with Flying Blue status usually show up about 30–45 minutes before boarding for a drink, Wi‑Fi check, and a sit-down, then head straight to the gate. Crowding spikes when two or more departures overlap, so lingering for hours brings diminishing returns. Practical tip: eat landside, clear security around 90 minutes before departure, then use Salon Madinina as a short, slightly quieter staging area before you walk to your gate.
