Just past security in Terminal 1, Aelia Duty Free fills the central corridor.
This is the main duty free stop for FCO Terminal 1, sitting immediately after security before you branch off toward the Schengen gates. You’ll walk through it by default on the way to most boarding areas, so you don’t really detour to get here.
Liquor and wine run from about €12 for basic spirits up to €60–€70 for better-name bottles, with promos on Italian brands clustered near the front. Standard European duty free rules apply, and staff are used to explaining allowances for flights to non‑EU destinations from Terminal 1.
The cosmetics and perfume section sits in the middle of the shop, with big names like Dior, Chanel, and Lancôme clearly marked. Travel sets and miniatures often price around €20–€35, and they stock the usual 100 ml liquids that work for cabin bags if you’re connecting onward from Rome.
Food and gifts lean hard into Italian products: Baci, Venchi bars, and boxed cookies from brands like Mulino Bianco typically sit between €5 and €15. You’ll also see vacuum‑packed pasta and sauces that survive longer flights, all in the same Terminal 1 walkthrough space.
Tobacco is at the back left of the shop, with cartons priced in euros and clear signs about EU vs non‑EU purchase limits. Payment is straightforward: cards and contactless work without a minimum, and receipts print with “Terminal 1 – Aelia Duty Free” at the top.
Tip: if you’re tight on time for a Schengen flight from Terminal 1, budget 5 extra minutes to clear Aelia’s main corridor, since you have to pass through it on the way to your gate.
