Briciole Bar

1

Briciole Bar sits in FCO Terminal 1, past security

Terminal 1 at Leonardo da Vinci (FCO) has limited food options, and Briciole Bar is one of the main spots once you clear security. You’ll find it airside in T1, handy if you’re flying ITA Airways or other Schengen departures from this terminal. If you want a coffee, sandwich, or drink without walking back toward check-in, this is one of the closest options.

Food here centers on Italian bar basics: espresso, cappuccino, soft drinks, simple pastries, and premade panini. Expect airport pricing, with coffee usually a few euros higher than in central Rome and sandwiches priced above what you’d pay in the city. There’s typically counter service plus some stand-up or limited seating nearby, so plan for a quick stop rather than a long sit-down meal.

Terminal 1 security can back up in the morning bank between roughly 06:00 and 09:00, so Briciole Bar often becomes the default breakfast stop for early flights. If you want more than a coffee and a snack, eat before arriving at FCO or in the landside area of T1, then use Briciole for a last drink or water bottle before boarding. It works best as a 10–15 minute pause between security and your gate.

Because Briciole Bar is inside T1 only, it’s not useful if you depart from Terminal 3 long-haul gates like E31–E45. Check your boarding pass: if it says T3, don’t head to T1 just for this place. Stay in your terminal and use the food outlets closer to your actual gate to avoid unnecessary walking and another security or passport control queue.

One practical tip: buy water and any final snacks for the flight here in T1 so you don’t have to rely on the smaller vending machines near some Schengen gates, especially the higher 20s where options thin out.
