Casa Alitalia Lounge

3

ITA’s newer lounges in Terminal 3 now take center stage, so Casa Alitalia in T3 feels like yesterday’s flagship rather than today’s headline.

This lounge sits airside in Terminal 3 for ITA Airways and SkyTeam partner flights, so think long-haul and Schengen/non‑Schengen departures rather than quick hops out of Terminal 1. Casa Alitalia originally opened as Alitalia’s premium space, and most older reviews talk about a stylish layout with Italian finishes and a bar set near the main seating area. If you’re holding an ITA or SkyTeam business ticket out of T3, this is one of the legacy names you may still see on older signs or in lounge lists.

Earlier reports mention hot pasta, small antipasti plates, and espresso from a proper machine rather than push‑button pods, with food stations usually refreshed around core departure banks for long‑haul ITA flights. Wine and basic spirits show up as self‑serve, and soft drinks come from fridges near the buffet line. Given ITA’s rebranding in Terminal 3 since 2021, treat any menu detail as subject to change and expect the current ITA‑branded lounges to pull the better catering and liquor.

Seating in the historical layout breaks into several zones: armchairs near the windows, barstools closer to the buffet, and a quieter section tucked farther from the main entrance doors. Power outlets appear along walls and some table bases, but older photos show Euro sockets without USB ports, so bring a Type C adapter if your gear still needs one. Wi‑Fi runs on the airport network at Fiumicino (FCO), which often clocks in around single‑digit Mbps during peak banks.

Because current information skews pre‑ITA, don’t walk into Terminal 3 assuming Casa Alitalia still operates exactly as described on blogs from 2018 or 2019. Check the ITA and SkyTeam lounge listings on your boarding pass or at FCO’s info screens: you may be directed to an ITA‑branded lounge with newer furniture and a different buffet instead. As a rule, build at least a 20–30 minute buffer before boarding in T3 if you want a proper sit‑down plate and a drink rather than a rushed stop at the gate.
