Most Signature EYW riders never touch the Main Terminal

Private and charter flights into Key West often park at the Signature Aviation FBO on the airfield, not at the Main commercial terminal, and the so-called “Signature Aviation shuttle” usually means a pre-arranged car or van tied to your operator or hotel. There’s no public counter in the Main building selling seats on a branded shuttle; everything runs off coordination through Signature’s general aviation facility.

Signature EYW sits on its own ramp area at Key West International Airport, and ground staff there focus on handling aircraft and arranging transport on demand rather than running a fixed-route bus. The website advertises ground handling and coordination services, which in practice means they line up sedans, SUVs, or vans through local partners, instead of publishing a timetable or fixed fare chart like a city shuttle.

Most transfers from Signature into Old Town, about 2–3 miles from the airport, are bundled into charter packages or hotel arrangements, so your first call should be to your charter company or resort, not to a generic shuttle desk. Regulars say they treat it as a meet‑and‑greet service at the FBO door, with the driver holding a name sign as soon as the aircraft blocks in and passengers walk through the small Signature lobby.

There is no walk‑up “Signature shuttle” stand with a posted schedule, and you won’t find a fare table listing prices to Duval Street or Stock Island; staff instead quote rates individually or roll transport into your overall trip cost. Because the FBO serves general aviation only, anyone arriving on an airline flight at the Main terminal would have to arrange a separate car service or taxi from the regular curb, since commercial passengers do not get routed through Signature’s building.

How to use it, step by step:

  • 1. When booking your charter into EYW, ask the operator or broker to add ground transfer from Signature Aviation to your hotel or marina, and request a sedan, SUV, or van by name.
  • 2. At least 24 hours before arrival, confirm with Signature EYW or your hotel that the car is set to meet your specific tail number and ETA at the FBO ramp.
  • 3. On landing, follow crew or ground staff into the Signature terminal lobby, which is separate from the Main terminal, and look for the pre‑booked driver inside or just outside the door.
  • 4. Verify your name and destination with the driver, confirm the quoted price or that it’s included in your charter or room package, and only then load bags into the vehicle.
  • 5. On departure day, have the same operator or hotel set a pickup time at Signature EYW at least 30–45 minutes before your planned wheels‑up, since you skip TSA lines but still need time for fueling and paperwork.

One practical tip: if anyone in your group lands on an airline flight into the Main terminal instead of at Signature, put them in a standard taxi or rideshare for the 5‑minute hop over to the FBO rather than trying to “catch” a non‑existent public Signature shuttle.
