Mid stay

£64.99 a day puts Mid Stay squarely between Short and Long Stay

This is the on-airport middle ground at East Midlands (T1): closer than Long Stay, cheaper than Short Stay, and still a 6–7 minute walk to the terminal. It’s a mid stay car park, so you park your own car, keep your keys, and head straight for departures without waiting for a minibus.

Most people quote a 4–6 minute walk from Mid Stay to T1, and reviews of Mid Stay 2 talk about “instant access to the park” with plenty of spaces, even at busy times. Paths are paved and signed, so you wheel your own bags straight to the terminal doors instead of loading onto a shuttle. If you hate waiting around for buses before an early flight, this is the compromise that still keeps things walkable.

On-the-day pricing can hit £64.99 per 24 hours, so regulars rarely just roll up. Instead they pre-book through brokers and airport deals, locking in specific dates and often bundling parking with hotel stays or insurance on the same booking. That advance pricing usually undercuts drive-up Short Stay for trips longer than two or three days while keeping you much closer than Long Stay.

There’s no meaningful list of complaints in recent reviews, which is telling for a UK airport car park. Gates read number plates on entry and exit, and most stays are barrier-up, barrier-down, done in under a minute. Still build a 10–15 minute buffer from parking space to security queues in T1, especially at 06:00–08:00 departures.

  • Tip: Check third-party sites a few weeks ahead; if Mid Stay prices close to Long Stay for your dates, grab it early and lock in the 6-minute walk.
