Gate-area Tex-Mex and drinks in Terminal A
Boarder Bar & Bites sits airside in ELP’s Terminal A, handy if your flight boards from A1–A4 and you don’t want to drift far. It’s a small Tex-Mex bar setup, more stools and high-tops than full restaurant, so think quick plate and a drink before boarding rather than a drawn-out meal.
Hours run 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, so it mainly catches daytime departures. Early 6:00 a.m. flights won’t see it open, and late-night arrivals after 7:00 p.m. should plan on grabbing food in town instead.
Menu is standard airport Tex-Mex: expect tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and chips with salsa or queso in the $8–$18 range, plus beers and simple mixed drinks. Portions lean toward “hold-you-over” rather than massive platters, so this works better as a snack-and-drink stop than your only meal of the day.
Service pace usually tracks how many morning and afternoon departures are stacked at nearby gates; give yourself at least 25–30 minutes if you want hot food and a second drink. If you’re tight on time, grab nachos or chips and salsa, since those tend to land faster than tacos cooked to order.
Tip: If your flight leaves from Terminal B, check your boarding time and walking route first; the short terminal walk can still eat 10+ minutes once the concourse gets busy.
