Smashburger

B ★ 5 $$$$

Gate B Smashburger means a cooked-to-order burger at ELP

In Concourse B past security, Smashburger runs as the newer option versus the older fast food near the A gates. Expect sit-down pricing at about $$, a burger, fries, and drink landing close to what you’d pay city-side at an upscale fast-casual spot. It’s one of the few places in El Paso International where you can get a burger made fresh on a grill instead of pulled from a heat lamp.

The draw here is still the burger itself. A Classic Smash or BBQ Bacon with fries usually clocks in around the mid-teens in dollars, which lines up with its 5-star-style reviews for taste, not value. One Google reviewer flat out says it’s “way better than typical airport fast food,” and that’s the general theme: quality above McDonald’s pricing, but not exactly cheap.

Ticket times run 15–20 minutes during lunch and dinner rush, according to multiple reviews, so this is not a 5‑minute grab-and-go option. One traveler mentioned the burger “took a while” but came out fresh off the grill, so trade some time for a hotter sandwich. If you’re inside 30 minutes of boarding at B gates, this starts to feel risky.

What regulars do: order at the counter, grab their drink, then sit in the nearby B concourse seating so they can hear boarding calls from adjacent gates like B1–B3. Staff call out names when orders are ready, so you don’t have to hover by the counter. This makes it workable on a 45–60 minute layover.

Watch out for sticker shock compared with non-airport Smashburger locations in El Paso; multiple reviewers call out noticeably higher prices for the same items. Also, custom orders or extra toppings can push the total over $20 fast.

Tip: if your flight leaves from Terminal A but you want Smashburger, budget an extra 10 minutes to walk back to your gate after picking up your food.
