Gate area around T2 security is ringed with Dubai Duty Free.
In Terminal 2 at DXB, Dubai Duty Free wraps around the main departures hall after security, so you pass it on the way to almost every gate. Expect long aisles of perfume, liquor, chocolate, and souvenirs, all under the usual yellow Dubai Duty Free branding. Prices on big-name spirits and tobacco often run lower than in downtown Dubai, but it’s still worth comparing to your home airport if you know your brands.
Most counters in T2 open 24 hours, matching the terminal’s late-night Air India Express and flydubai bank. That helps if you land on a 03:15 arrival and still need last-minute gifts. You’ll see separate islands for cosmetics, electronics, and gold; the perfume and cosmetics corner usually pulls the biggest crowd, and payment lines can slow down to 10–15 minutes before major bank departures.
Liquor limits follow UAE rules: typically 4 liters of alcohol per person over 18, so plan your cart around that cap. Big 1-liter bottles of whisky, vodka, and gin often come in 2-for deals, and chocolate bundles run in the 30–80 AED range. Electronics in T2 skew toward headphones, power banks, and travel plugs more than flagship phones or laptops, which are easier to find in T3.
Final tip: if your gate in T2 is past the 210s, shop early on entering departures, not just before boarding — some outlying gate areas have only a small Dubai Duty Free kiosk with limited stock.
