Gate-side in Terminal A, HEYS covers last-minute travel gear

Right in Terminal A after security, HEYS runs daily from 08:00 to 20:00, so it catches the morning bank of departures and the early evening wave. This is a straight-up travel essentials shop: think chargers, cables, neck pillows, padlocks, small bags, and basic comfort items for the flight leaving from A-gates.

Pricing sits in normal airport territory: expect phone cables and adapters in the €15–€30 bracket, and simple locks or tags under €15. Brands lean functional over luxury, so it works better for “I forgot this” than for gift shopping. If you just realized at 19:30 that your charging brick is still in your living room, this is the place in A to fix it.

Stock focuses on carry-on problems: cabin-sized bags, packing cubes, and small organizers that fit overhead-bin rules for airlines using DUS Terminal A, like Eurowings and Lufthansa short-haul. Basic rain ponchos and compact umbrellas show up here as well, which matters in Düsseldorf in November more than August.

There’s no food, no drinks, and no seating; it’s a quick in-and-out stop between security and your gate. If you have a tight departure out of an A40-something gate, hit HEYS on the walk out rather than backtracking later.

Tip: If you need a universal adapter, buy it here before you board; in-flight options often run a few euros higher for the same thing.
