Bus

€8.50 gets you from DUB to O’Connell Street on Aircoach 700

Route 700 runs 24/7 from both T1 and T2 at Dublin Airport, aimed squarely at people heading to hotels near O’Connell Street, Trinity College, Leeson Street, and St Stephen’s Green. Buses usually run every 15–30 minutes in the daytime, stretching to roughly every 30–60 minutes late at night. Coaches have underfloor luggage holds, so full-size suitcases go below and only your small bag rides upstairs.

Stops are right outside T1 and T2 arrivals, marked “Aircoach 700” with blue branding, and the ride to O’Connell Street typically runs 25–35 minutes in light traffic, more like 45–60 in rush hour. The city-centre loop includes key stops at Drumcondra, O’Connell Street, Trinity College, Kildare Street, Leeson Street, and into southside hotel territory. Drivers call out major stops, but the LED display also shows each stop name.

As of 2024, a single adult ticket bought online starts around €8.50 one-way, with returns roughly €10–€14 depending on promotions, and you can also pay the driver by card or cash in euros. Kids tickets run cheaper, and there are family bundles listed on the Aircoach site. Online purchase locks in your fare, but the ticket is usually valid for any departure within a set time window that day.

Coaches have Wi‑Fi and USB charging at many seats, and luggage rides in the hold from airport to city without mid-route transfers. There’s only one front door, so boarding can take a few minutes when several passengers have bags to load. Seats are standard coach seats in a 2–2 layout, with overhead racks for small backpacks and coats.

Aircoach 700 drops off at multiple stops, with O’Connell Street and Kildare Street popular for quick walks to Grafton Street and St Stephen’s Green hotels. For the return to DUB, stops are clearly signed “towards Airport,” and timetables at each stop show the first and last coach of the day. If you’re flying early out of T1 or T2, aim to be on a coach that arrives at least 2 hours before departure for intra‑EU flights and 3 hours for transatlantic.

Practical tip: Buy your ticket online before landing, then head straight to the Aircoach 700 stand outside T1 or T2 and join the queue nearest your terminal instead of crossing the forecourt to compare options with local Dublin Bus routes.
