By the time Dublin Airport T1 wakes up, WHSmith - Duty Free is already trading at 04:00 and keeps going until 21:00. It sits airside in Terminal 1, so this is a last-minute grab spot after security, not a landside errand.
You get the usual WHSmith mix: books, magazines, snacks, drinks and basic travel bits, with duty free pricing on some confectionery and gifts. Think multipack chocolate, crisps, and bottled drinks rather than full grocery runs. Prices are airport-marked but not outrageous compared to other T1 shops.
Use this for forgotten essentials: plug adapters, basic headphones, a spare charging cable, simple toiletries and stationery. You’ll also find paperbacks stacked near the front, plus newspapers from Ireland and the UK, handy if your short-haul flight is under 3 hours and you just want something light to read.
Because it closes at 21:00, late-night departures out of T1 lose this option completely after that. If your flight leaves around 20:30–21:30, shop by 20:00 to avoid last-minute queues and the lights going off while you’re still browsing snacks.
