The Bookshop by WHSmith

T1

Gate-side books in T1

The Bookshop by WHSmith sits in Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1, an easy option if you want something to read without wandering over to T2. You’re looking at a standard airport bookshop setup under the WHSmith banner, with paperbacks, magazines and travel essentials all in one place.

Stock skews to paperbacks and bestsellers, the kind you knock out on a DUB–LHR hop or a 7-hour transatlantic leg. Expect recent fiction, crime, a few business titles, plus English-language magazines. Prices track typical airport markups, so assume you’re paying a bit more than in a city-centre WHSmith.

Because this is in Terminal 1, it mainly serves Ryanair and other T1 carriers, so you don’t want to rely on it if you’re flying Aer Lingus long-haul out of T2. Check your boarding pass; if it shows T1, you’re in the right place for a last-minute book grab after security.

The shop also follows standard WHSmith practice and mixes in travel add-ons: basic stationery, a few kids’ activity books for flights over 2 hours, plus newspapers for short hops. Don’t expect rare titles or a deep backlist; this runs on volume and turnover rather than curation.

Tip: if your gate is in the low 100s in T1, give yourself a 10–15 minute buffer to stop here before you head down to the gate cluster, where reading options thin out fast.
